Massage Therapy to Benefit Athletic Performance

Picture
Life in the shadows of the Wasatch Range affords an array of opportunities for athletic and physical activities - mountain and road biking, running, skiing, kayaking, rock and ice climbing and so many other wonderful options.  In doing so, we often push and punish our bodies - intentionally and, on occasion, unintentionally.

Wasatch Massage Therapy offers you the opportunity to regain the strength, flexibility and sense of wellbeing when you push your limits.  As a serious recreational athlete, I am familiar with challenges associated with setting physical performance goals and the stresses created on our muscles, joints and tendons as we strive for those levels.

I have worked with a wide range of athletes over the past decade and helped them restore the physical vitality, range of motion and flexibility that allows them to perform at their best levels.  I am passionate about empowering athletes to work through chronic complaints such as plantar fascitis and rotator cuff injuries.

Massage modalities include deep tissue, sports, trigger point, thai-yoga and stone.  I am a certified herbalist, vinyasa yoga instructor and medical qi gong practitioner and can draw upon these disciplines as needed or per client request in order to support you in continuing the benefits of our work after our session.

I advise not scheduling a session before a particularly arduous workout as I am not able to work as deep a day or two later.  Experience has shown that this is the better approach to integrating massage therapy into your physical regime.

I am a nationally certified massage therapist and licensed in the state of Utah.  I also work for one of the top resorts in the area and am happy to recommend spa-oriented treatments – although it will cost you about 4x as much to schedule a session with me in the spa rather than my home practice.  My home office is located in an idyllic retreat setting 2 miles south of Little Cottonwood Canyon.  I offer discounted rates for SLC residents.

I do have a strict 24 hour cancellation policy.  If you cancel with less than 24 hours notice, you’ll be responsible for paying for the session or I may not be willing to continue working with you.

Warmly,
Jen
